The six-acre lake is a historical natural lake that is sourced by springs of the Los Angeles River and San Fernando Valley aquifers. Lakeside Golf Club was established more than 100 years ago and is located near Toluca Lake. The course was updated in 2017 by an acclaimed restoration expert to bring its original design by Max Behr back to life. The club also hosts annual events, including national amateur tournaments like the Kelly Cup and the Bob Hope Invitational.
North Weddington Recreation Center is a park and indoor recreation center with sports fields, after-school programs, summer camps, sports teams, community rooms, and a playground.
Schools
Los Angeles Unified School District is the second-largest in the U.S. It serves more than 500,000 students across the Los Angeles area. The district also authorized 14 non-profit charter schools, Partnerships to Uplift Communities (PUC Schools), that were designed to increase high school graduation rates and college entrance. PUC schools serve Northeast San Fernando Valley and Northeast Los Angeles.
